Katherine J. Flynn’s practice investigates the liminal spaces between memory and matter, between stillness and narrative. Her work embraces spontaneity and risk, favoring the unplanned scene and the overlooked object. She often repurposes found components - mirrors, vintage automobile doors, drift-objects from the high desert - turning remnants into visual passages that examine transition, reflection, and the tension between the seen and unseen. 

Flynn’s editorial lens spans music, film, and culture, with credits including still photography for Chappell Roan’s music video The Subway, work on FKA Twigs projects, and early editorial commissions for LaLa Magazine. Her exhibitions include a six-week solo show in Atwater Village in 2023 and a presentation of her Volkswagen-framed series in Venice, California, in 2024. She received First Place Photography at the Beverly Hills Art Show in 2025. 

Beyond her photographic work, she writes, directs, and raises her two daughters, Willa and Luna, between Venice Beach and Landers, California. She is the co-founder of Young Hearts, a philanthropic extension of the Open Hearts Foundation that creates accessible volunteer opportunities for younger generations.
